About Herbert Klein
I am a Deaf, British Sign Language (BSL) user, from London, UK.
I recently retired from the Adult and Children’s Deaf Mental Health Services within the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) after working within these services for over 30 years in a wide variety of roles including therapist, manager, project manager, trainer, lecturer and advisor. Furthermore, I was a member of several steering groups for clinical research involving dementia, stroke and Deaf health related surveys.
Currently, I work as an Independent Deaf Advisor on multiple mental health related projects in the UK and abroad. I am also the President of the British Society for Mental Health and Deafness (BSMHD) and an Ambassador for the European Society of Mental Health and Deafness (ESMHD).
